doing some research for the film and I came across this in the Wharton Leadership Digest, in the section about Cantor Fitzgerald:
http://leadership.wharton.upenn.edu/digest/09-03.shtml
""Before the attack, the company had also invested in building an electronic system to replace the physical trading pits it used to trade U.S. government bonds. The new technology was designed to forestall a potential competitive threat. It was meant to avoid being "Merrill Lynch and get Schwabbed," but it also gave the company the flexibility it needed to restart its operations after the terrorist attack.""
what's next, will the HSX be realized by International Gaming Machines and Jack Kevorkian?? so when you lose all your money, your PC can terminate you humanely?
Max is absolutely right about America being turned into a casino gulag.

we are connected to millions of people around the world, yet we spend most of our time logged into facebook exchanging messages with people we already know, rather than stopping by for a visit.
it never used to be this way. back when the web was young it was the opposite, we would chat with strangers- sometimes even arranging a meeting IRL(in real life!), and not necessarily for sex either. we would actually seek out others with similar interests, or a different perceptive, not strictly fraternizing with folks who are geographically or genetically related to us.
generation-x has failed you, sorry.

from a boomtown in cyberspace, to the omnipresence of Google, this film will attempt to present a big picture view of the early days of the wired community.
in essense, it is the epic battle of the poweruser vs. the 'powers that be'.
