Project Logline: This is a documentary in answer to the Kony 2012 video. I will be traveling to Uganda to document all the truth that I can find.

Synopsis: Kony 2012 showed us what Northern Uganda faced half a decade ago. It has been the subject of much criticism since early March. One of the criticisms is that there was no "voice" for the people of Uganda included in the video. For some it was just a simplified portrayal of the atrocities they lived through years ago. There are so many more relevant issues that the Ugandan people face. The biggest and most immediate issues are about how to stop their children from dying of malaria, HIV/AIDS-related infections, and other manageable diseases. For example, children in northern Uganda are currently falling victim to a mysterious illness known as "nodding disease". The first cases were reported in Pader, Kitgum and Lamwo districts in 2008, but little was done to prevent the disease escalating, and today northern Uganda is faced with a full-scale epidemic, with 3,000 reported cases. This affects children age 1 to 19. There are deep concerns that the government is not responding adequately to the crisis, while their children are falling prey to this progressive, usually fatal disease. It's been hard to hear from Uganda since only 2% have access to the internet. I will travel to Uganda and stay there for three weeks filming interviews and documenting all that I can, which when I get back will be quickly produced into a documentary for the world to see. I think that this video will be very powerful and will be more popular than Kony 2012, and do more for the Ugandan people in the process.
